Frequently Asked Questions

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the use of an electrical current to permanently destroy the blood supply to a hair follicle with heat and/or chemical decomposition. A probe slightly smaller than the size of the hair is inserted into the follicle and a modest amount of energy is applied to the base of the hair follicle destroying the blood supply and germinating cells to prevent new hairs from growing. This method is safe, FDA approved and has been around since 1875.

Is it safe?

Will it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal for most people and does vary greatly based on individual tolerance levels. However, you must know Electrolysis has been described as a mild heat sensations, pinch, or sting.  This sensation does not last, and most clients find the temporary discomfort is worth the results found with Electrolysis. Some clients prefer to take an over-the-counter pain reliever or use a topical numbing cream prior to their session.

How long will it take?

There are many factors that play a role in the number of treatments needed and varies greatly depending on the client.
